Administration of General Anesthesia - Airway Management

After induction of general anesthesia, airway reflexes and respiratory drive are depressed. The airway should be secured, and mechanical ventilation should be provided to maintain oxygenation and remove CO2. The most commonly used devices to secure the airway and provide ventilation are ETT and LMA.
