Evaluation of Abdominal Pain (ICU Specific)

First Things First (assess for & treat the following):

Does pt exhibit signs of peritonitis?
- Abdominal rigidity
- Rebound/percussion tenderness
- Involuntary guarding
Is free intra-abdominal air (pneumoperitoneum) present on radiographic studies?
Are abdominal complaints associated w/ hypotension & fever?
