Nutritional Assessment and Metabolic Monitoring

First Things First (assess & treat for the following)

ABCs are first priority.
Nutritional assessment and metabolic monitoring should follow initial stabilization of the patient.
Malnutrition is associated with worsened outcomes.
As soon as patient is resuscitated, nutrients should be provided, especially if more than a brief ICU stay is anticipated.
