Intracranial compliance
Intracranial compliance may be decreased by intracranial mass lesions (eg, tumor, hematoma, or abscess). Surrounding normal brain tissue may be compressed, leading to blood-brain barrier compromise, cerebral edema, loss of cerebral autoregulation, and local ischemia and inflammation.
