Perioperative/periprocedural pediatric pain evaluation, treatment, and monitoring are essential to mitigate biologic and psychological stresses and improve long-term outcomes. Multiple methods are used for treatment of pediatric pain and include nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic techniques. These include neuraxial, regional, nonopioid, and opioid pharmacotherapy.
