PALS Algorithms
First Things First (assess & treat for the following)
- Check for response/call for help (911)
- Confirm no pulse present
- Begin BLS/CPR
- One rescuer (30:2)
- Two rescuers (15:2)
- 5 cycles (2 minutes without interruption)
- 100 compressions/min
- Give oxygen if available
- Attach monitor/defibrillator (may use AED protocol if >1 year)
- Assess rhythm (ECG)
- Establish IV/IO access
