Anesthesia for Neurosurgery - Intraoperative Management

Anesthetic goals for intracranial procedures include hypnosis, amnesia, immobility, control of ICP and CPP, and a “relaxed brain” (i.e., optimal surgical conditions). Whenever possible, the anesthetic plan should provide an awake, extubated patient who can be evaluated neurologically at the end of the procedure.
