Non-Operating Room Anesthesia - Anesthesia for Gastrointestinal Procedures

These are the most common NORA procedures performed. Unique to these procedures is the ability to be performed bedside in the intensive care unit (ICU) or in the operating room for patients who are unstable or have medically complex conditions. The anesthetic approach is dictated by patient comorbidities, including body habitus, nature of procedure, and clinical context. This may be done with MAC and varying levels of sedation or GA.
