Monitoring Anesthetic Brain States - Conclusion
Section
Although the unprocessed EEG recordings of the anesthetics can be difficult to analyze, the spectrograms make clear that each anesthetic has a distinct EEG signature. These signatures can be related to the mechanisms by which the drugs act at specific receptors in specific neural circuits to alter arousal and can be used to monitor the brain states of patients under anesthesia care.
