Adrenocorticotropic hormone, plasma (ACTH)

Separate plasma from cells and freeze ASAP.
Send promptly to laboratory on ice. ACTH is unstable in plasma, is inactivated at room temperature, and adheres strongly to glass. Avoid all contact with glass.
