Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE)

- HE is a syndrome of neuropsychiatric dysfunction caused by portosystemic venous shunting with or without intrinsic liver disease. It is classified into episodic (previously acute), persistent (previous chronic) or minimal (previously subclinical).
